Phoenix earn two crucial points thanks to Luke Green

The Phoenix seized two valuable points this Thursday night against the Saguenéens. With a 3-2 overtime victory over the Blues, Stéphane Julien's men approached only one point of the Oceanic, on whom he has a match in hand.

After Nicolas Roy broke the ice for Chicoutimi, Kevin Gilbert created the tie by escaping. Nicolas Poulin then gave the lead to the Birds by seizing his own return.

Roy scored his second of the game at the start of the third, forcing an extension. Luke Green scored his third point of the game by placing the puck behind Julio Billia.

Brendan Cregan, author of a second overtime win in as many matches, was relieved of the fruit of his 28 stops on 30 shots.

"I was so happy to see Luke score! He is one of my good friends and he had a good match offensively. It was a bit intimidating to face big cannons like Nicolas Roy and Ratelle, but we got away with the two points and honestly, that's all that counts now! "

The coach has also demonstrated his support for his goalkeeper, stressing the difficult context.

"Brendan does not play much but he gives us what is expected of him. We have two games in two evenings that are coming so I have not yet made my decision for my starting goalkeeper for tomorrow night but it is obvious that it is not easy to remove a guy who wins the net "Justifies Stéphane Julien.
