LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have acquired defenseman Rob Scuderi from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Christian Ehrhoff, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. To make room on the 23-man roster, defenseman Kevin Gravel has been assigned to Ontario.
Scuderi, 37, has played in 17 games with the Blackhawks this year, going scoreless.
The 6-1, 212-pound native of Syosset, New York has played for the Blackhawks, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Kings during his 12-year NHL career, including winning two Stanley Cups (2012 – Los Angeles, 2009 – Pittsburgh). In 762 career regular-season games he has 104 points (8-96=104), a plus-16 rating and 196 penalty minutes. Drafted in the fifth-round (134th overall) by Pittsburgh during the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, the two-time Stanley Cup champion has appeared in 117 playoff games overall. He has posted 14 points (1-13=14), a plus-18 rating and 26 penalty minutes during that time. Scuderi will wear #7 with the Kings.
Ehrhoff, 33, appeared in 40 games this season with the Kings, posting 10 points (2-8=10) and 32 penalty minutes. He was signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent, Sept. 4, 2015.
Defenseman Kevin Gravel has also been assigned to Ontario. He appeared in four games during his first NHL call-up, including his first NHL game, Feb. 11 at NY Islanders.
The Kings play host to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night at STAPLES Center on FOX Sports West and TalkRadio 790 KABC at 8:00 p.m.

Kadri Fined: Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri was fined $5,000 by the NHL on Thursday for innapropriate gestures towards Calgary Flames defenseman Mark Giordano on Tuesday.
Ehrhoff Clears Waivers: On Tuesday, Los Angeles Kings forward Christian Ehrhoff cleared waivers.
Garrison Injured: The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Thursday that defenseman Jason Garrison will miss 3-5 weeks with a lower-body injury.
