Antoine Vermette's appeal hearing for his recent 10-game suspension scheduled for Thursday at the NHL offices in New York, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reported on Tuesday.
Vermette was automatically suspended for 10 games, without pay, for violating Rule 40.3 (Physical Abuse of Officials) during NHL Game No. 840 in Minnesota on Tuesday, Feb. 14, the National Hockey League announced prior to LeBrun's report.
The incident occurred at 7:33 of the third period. Vermette was assessed a game misconduct for abuse of officials.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Vermette is also supposed to forfeit $97,222.22. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
