COYOTES HOLD OFF DUCKS TO EARN VICTORY
The Arizona Coyotes built a 3-0 lead in the first period and held off a late Anaheim Ducks rally to improve to 5-2-1 in their past eight games. The Coyotes earned their first win against the Ducks since Nov. 25, 2015 (4-2 W), ending a five-game slide (0-4-1).
* Radim Vrbata scored his first game-winning goal of the season (45th career) and extended his point streak to six games (1-5-6). He leads the Coyotes with 41 points (12 goals, 29 assists) 12-29-41 this season (58 GP).
* Marek Langhamer, a seventh-round selection (No. 184) in the 2012 NHL Draft, entered the game in the third period and made seven saves in his NHL debut (15:31 TOI), including a last-second stop to preserve the victory.

LAINE, JETS FACE MATTHEWS, MAPLE LEAFS FOR SECOND TIME
The top two picks from the 2016 NHL Draft go head-to-head for the second and final time this season when Patrik Laine (28-24-52) and the Jets visit Auston Matthews (28-21-49) and the Maple Leafs. Winnipeg rallied from a 4-0 deficit helped by Laine's first NHL hat trick to defeat Toronto in their first game this season and is 8-0-1 record in its past nine games against the Maple Leafs since March 13, 2013 (TOR: 1-5-3). Laine is one goal shy of tying the Jets/Thrashers record for most in a season by a rookie (Ilya Kovalchuk: 29 in 2001-02), while Matthews needs six to match the Maple Leafs' single-season record (Wendel Clark: 34 in 1985-86).
