Schenn, Allen and Elliott Named NHL ‘Three Stars’ of the Week
FIRST STAR – BRAYDEN SCHENN, C, ST. LOUIS BLUES
Schenn led the NHL with 6-1—7, including at least one goal in all four of his appearances, to power the Blues (21-8-2, 44 points) to a perfect week and the top of the Western Conference standings. He notched his third career hat trick, including the decisive goal, in a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens Dec. 5. Schenn then scored the winning goal in a 3-0 triumph against the Dallas Stars Dec. 7 and registered 1-1—2 in a 6-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings Dec. 9. He made 22 saves in a 4-3 victory against the Montreal Canadiens Dec. 5. Allen then turned aside all 29 shots he faced, earning his 16th career shutout in a 3-0 triumph over the Dallas Stars Dec. 7. He added a pair of weekend wins, recording 28 saves in a 6-1 victory against the Detroit Red Wings Dec. 9 and 22 stops in a 3-2 overtime triumph over the Buffalo Sabres Dec. 10. THIRD STAR – BRIAN ELLIOTT, G, PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
Elliott posted a trio of victories – along with a 1.67 goals-against average and .954 save percentage – to help the Flyers (11-11-7, 29 points) bounce back from a 10-game skid (0-5-5) and complete a perfect road trip through Western Canada. He made 43 saves in a 5-2 victory over the Calgary Flames Dec. 4, 24 stops in a 4-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers Dec. 6 and 36 saves in a 4-1 triumph over the Vancouver Canucks Dec. 7. The 32-year-old Newmarket, Ont., native – who is in his first season with Philadelphia – owns a 9-6-6 record, 2.79 goals-against average and .912 save percentage through 22 appearances.

FIRST STAR – TEUVO TERAVAINEN, LW, CAROLINA HURRICANES
Teravainen led the NHL with five goals and 10 points in four games (5-5—10) to propel the Hurricanes (9-6-4, 22 points) to a trio of victories. He posted 3-1—4, his first career hat trick and second career four-point performance, in a 5-1 triumph over the Dallas Stars Nov. 13. Teravainen then registered two assists in a 6-4 loss to the New York Islanders Nov. 16 and one helper in a 3-1 win against the Buffalo Sabres Nov. 18. He capped the week with 2-1—3, his third three-point outing of the campaign, in a 4-2 victory over the Islanders Nov. 19. The 23-year-old Helsinki, Finland, native paces the Hurricanes with 8-11—19 in 19 contests this season, nearly half his career-high point total from 2016-17 (15-27—42 in 81 GP).

He made a season-high 42 saves in a 1-0 overtime victory against the New Jersey Devils Nov. 16, followed by 33 stops in a 6-0 triumph over the Montreal Canadiens Nov. 18 – the second time he has earned consecutive shutouts in his career (also Jan. 23-25, 2017). The 28-year-old Herning, Denmark, native shares first place in the NHL with three shutouts and ranks second with 12 wins in 18 appearances this season, compiling a 2.88 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.
THIRD STAR – NATHAN MacKINNON, C, COLORADO AVALANCHE
MacKinnon collected 2-5—7 in three games to power the Avalanche (10-8-1, 21 points) to a pair of wins. He established career highs with four assists and five points in a 6-2 victory against the Washington Capitals Nov. 16. After being held off the scoresheet in a 5-2 loss to the Nashville Predators Nov. 18, MacKinnon bounced back with the primary assist on the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and then the overtime winner in a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings Nov. 19. FIRST STAR - STEVEN STAMKOS, C, TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
Stamkos posted four multi-point games, compiling a League-leading nine assists and 11 points (2-9-11) to power the Lightning (7-1-1, 15 points) to a 3-0-1 week and first place in the overall NHL standings. He collected two assists in a 3-2 win against the Detroit Red Wings Oct. 16, three points (1-2-3) in a 5-4 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils Oct. 17 and two more helpers in a 2-0 triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets Oct. 19. Stamkos capped the week with 1-3-4, including the winning goal and his ninth career four-point performance, in a 7-1 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins Oct. 21. The 27-year-old Markham, Ont., native has registered at least one point in all nine of his appearances this season, pacing the NHL with 15 assists and 18 points. Stamkos is the first player to average at least two points through his team's first nine games of a season since 2012-13, when Thomas Vanek accomplished the feat with the Buffalo Sabres (8-11-19 in 9 GP).
SECOND STAR - NIKITA KUCHEROV, RW, TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
Kucherov shared the League lead with five goals and ranked second with eight points (5-3-8) in four outings to help the Lightning equal their best nine-game start to a season in franchise history (also 7-1-1 in 2003-04). He scored in each of his first two contests of the week, recording 2-0-2 (including the game-winning goal) in a 3-2 victory over the Red Wings Oct. 16 and 1-1-2 in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Devils Oct. 17. In doing so, Kucherov became the sixth player in the NHL's modern era (since 1943-44) - and first since 1992-93 - to register at least one goal in each of his club's first seven games of a season. He then added one assist in a 2-0 win over the Blue Jackets Oct. 19 and 2-1-3 in a 7-1 triumph against the Penguins Oct. 21. The 24-year-old Maykop, Russia, native also has posted at least one point in each of his first nine outings this season, tying for the League lead with 10 goals and placing second with 16 points.

Couture ranked third in the NHL with 5-2-7 in three games to lead the Sharks (3-4-0, 6 points) to a pair of wins. He posted 2-2-4, his third career four-point outing, in a 5-2 triumph over the Montreal Canadiens Oct. 17. Ehlers leads 3 Stars of the Week
FIRST STAR - NIKOLAJ EHLERS, LW, WINNIPEG JETS
Ehlers led the NHL with five goals (5-2-7), including a pair of winners, to propel the Jets (3-2-0, 6 points) to three straight victories. He recorded 3-1-4, including a natural hat trick and the decisive goal, in a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers Oct. 9. In doing so, Ehlers became the third player in Jets/Thrashers history to post a natural hat trick, joining Ilya Kovalchuk (Nov. 11, 2005 vs. TBL) and Marian Hossa (Jan. 15, 2008 at DET). Ehlers added one goal in a 4-2 triumph against the Vancouver Canucks Oct. 12 and collected 1-1-2, including the winning tally, in a 2-1 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes Oct. 14. FIRST STAR - CRAIG ANDERSON, G, OTTAWA SENATORS
Anderson went 3-0-1 with a 1.44 goals-against average, .943 save percentage and one shutout to guide the Senators (44-28-10, 98 points) to seven out of a possible 10 standings points and a second-place finish in the Atlantic Division. He made 29 saves in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings April 3. Anderson bounced back with his 38th career shutout, stopping all 24 shots he faced in a 2-0 triumph over the Red Wings April 4. He closed the season with two more wins, making 28 saves in a 2-1 shootout victory against the Boston Bruins April 6 and 18 stops in a 3-1 triumph over the New York Rangers April 8. The 35-year-old Park Ridge, Ill., native posted a 25-11-4 record with a 2.28 goals-against average, .926 save percentage and five shutouts in 40 outings in 2016-17.

Artemi Panarin leads '3 Stars of the Week'
NEW YORK - Chicago Blackhawks left wing Artemi Panarin, Washington Capitals left wing Marcus Johansson and Edmonton Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending April 2.
FIRST STAR - ARTEMI PANARIN, LW, CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS
Panarin led the League with five goals in four games (5-1-6) to help the Blackhawks (50-22-7, 107 points) clinch first place in the Western Conference. Panarin began the week by notching one goal in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning March 27. On March 29, he recorded 1-1-2 in a 5-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins and followed with two goals in a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets March 31. Panarin finished the week with one goal in a 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins April 2. The 25-year-old native of Korkino, Russia, ranks second on the Blackhawks in goals and points (29-43-72 in 79 GP) and has eclipsed the 70-point mark in each of his first two NHL campaigns.

Talbot began the week by stopping 34 shots in a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings March 28. On March 30, he made 38 saves in a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks and followed with 16 saves in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks April 1. FIRST STAR - NIKITA KUCHEROV, RW, TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Brad Marchand leads 3 Stars of the Week
FIRST STAR - BRAD MARCHAND, LW, BOSTON BRUINS
Marchand led the NHL with 5-4-9 in three games - all multi-point performances - to power the Bruins (38-27-6, 82 points) to a pair of victories. He registered 3-1-4, including his second career hat trick (also Dec. 23, 2011 vs. FLA) and third four-point effort of the season, in a 6-3 triumph over the Vancouver Canucks March 13. Filip Forsberg leads 3 Stars of the Week
FIRST STAR - FILIP FORSBERG, LW, NASHVILLE PREDATORS
Forsberg led all skaters in goals and points (8-2-10 in 4 GP), including back-to-back hat tricks, as the Predators gained seven of a possible eight standings points to improve their record to 31-22-9 (71 points), third in the Central Division. On Feb. 21, Forsberg recorded his third career hat trick in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames and followed it up with another three-goal performance, including the winning goal, in a 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 23. In doing so, Forsberg became the first player in franchise history to record hat tricks in consecutive games and the first NHL player to achieve the feat since Vancouver's Alexandre Burrows on Jan. 5 and Jan. 7, 2010. Forsberg closed out the week with one goal and two assists in a 5-2 triumph over the Washington Capitals on Feb. 25 and one goal in a 5-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Feb. 26. The 22-year-old Ostervala, Sweden, native leads the Predators in goals and sits second on the team in points with 24-22-46 in 62 games.
SECOND STAR - JONATHAN TOEWS, C, CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS
Toews recorded multi-point efforts in each of the Blackhawks three games (4-5-9) as Chicago won all three contests to improve their overall record to 39-18-5 (83 points), second in the Central Division. On Feb. 21, Toews matched career highs for goals (3) and points (5) in a game, including the winning tally, in a 5-3 victory over the Central Division-leading Minnesota Wild. The Blackhawks captain then notched two assists in a 6-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Feb. 23 before closing out the week with one goal and one assist in a 4-2 triumph over the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 26. The 28-year-old Winnipeg, Man., native is currently riding a six-game point streak (5-8-13).
THIRD STAR - JOHNNY GAUDREAU, LW, CALGARY FLAMES
Gaudreau recorded eight points (2-6-8) in four road victories to propel the Flames (33-26-4, 70 points) to the first Wild Card position in the Western Conference. He began the week with four assists in a 6-5 OT win over the Nashville Predators Feb. 21. On Feb. 23, he recorded one assist in a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning before being held off the scoresheet in a 4-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Feb. 24. Patrik Laine leads 'Three Stars of the Week'
NEW YORK -- Winnipeg Jets right wing Patrik Laine, Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri and Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending Feb. 19.
FIRST STAR - PATRIK LAINE, RW, WINNIPEG JETS
Laine led the NHL with five goals and eight points in four games to propel the Jets (28-29-5, 61 points) to seven out of a possible eight standings points. He recorded his third career hat trick, including the winning goal, in a 5-2 triumph over the Dallas Stars Feb. 14. In doing so, Laine became the first player in NHL history to register three hat tricks before his 19th birthday as well as the first rookie to collect three hat tricks in one season since 1992-93. He scored again in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins Feb. 16. Laine then finished the week with consecutive multi-point efforts, notching 1-1-2 in a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens Feb. 18 and two assists in a 3-2 win against the Ottawa Senators Feb. 19. The 18-year-old Tampere, Finland, native paces rookies with 52 points in 54 games this season and also shares third place in the entire NHL - as well as the rookie lead - with 28 goals.
SECOND STAR - NAZEM KADRI, C, TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
Kadri picked up points in each of his four games, totaling 4-2-6 to lift the Maple Leafs (27-20-11, 65 points) to a split of their four contests. He recorded 1-1-2, including the decisive goal, in a 7-1 victory over the New York Islanders Feb. 14. Kadri then scored twice, his fifth multi-goal outing of the season, in a 5-2 defeat to the Columbus Blue Jackets Feb. 15. He closed the week with one goal in a 6-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators Feb. 18 and one assist in a 4-0 triumph over the Carolina Hurricanes Feb. 19. The 26-year-old London, Ont., native already has established a career high with 24 goals in 58 appearances this season, while his 46 points are four shy of his personal best set in 2013-14 (20-30-50 in 78 GP).

Jason Pominville leads 3 Stars of the Week
FIRST STAR - JASON POMINVILLE, RW, MINNESOTA WILD
Pominville paced the NHL with six assists and eight points in four games to power the Western Conference-leading Wild (37-12-6, 80 points) to a 3-0-1 week. He registered 2-2-4, his fourth career four-point performance and first since Jan. 1, 2011 (w/ BUF), in a 4-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets Feb. 7. He then collected one assist in both a 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks Feb. 8 and a 2-1 shootout win against the Tampa Bay Lightning Feb. 10. Pominville capped the week with two more helpers, his sixth multi-point effort of 2016-17, in a 6-3 triumph over the Detroit Red Wings Feb. 12. Sebastian Aho leads 3 Stars of the Week
FIRST STAR - SEBASTIAN AHO, RW, CAROLINA HURRICANES
Aho tied for the League lead with four goals (4-1-5) including two game-winning tallies as the Hurricanes (24-20-7, 55 points) won all three of their games. On Jan. 31, Aho recorded his first career hat trick, including the game-winning goal, and added one assist in a 5-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. He added another game-winning goal in a 2-1 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Feb. 3 before being held pointless in a 5-4 overtime victory over the New York Islanders on Feb. 4. Chosen 35th overall by Carolina in the 2015 NHL Draft, the 19-year-old Rauma, Finland native ranks third among rookies with 16 goals and tied for sixth with 31 points (16-15-31).
SECOND STAR - MIKAEL GRANLUND, C, MINNESOTA WILD
Granlund finished the week tied for first in points with 3-3-6 as the Western Conference-leading Wild (34-12-5, 73 points) won two of three contests. Budaj went 3-1-0 with a 1.62 goals-against average, .930 save percentage and two shutouts as the Kings, who hold the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, improved to 27-22-4 (58 points). Budaj opened the week by stopping 30 shots in a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Jan.31. He then recorded consecutive shutouts in a 5-0 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 1 (22 saves) and a 1-0 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Feb. 4 (17 saves). He finished the week by stopping 11 shots over two periods as the Kings fell 5-0 to the Washington Capitals on Feb. 5. Budaj, a 34‑year-old Banska Bystrica, Slovakia native has posted a 25-15-3 record this season with a 2.02 goals-against average, .920 save percentage and a League-leading seven shutouts.

Wayne Simmonds leads 3 Stars of the Week
NEW YORK - Philadelphia Flyers right wing Wayne Simmonds, San Jose Sharks left wing Patrick Marleau and Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending Jan. 29.
FIRST STAR - WAYNE SIMMONDS, RW, PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
Simmonds earned MVP honors at Sunday's 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Game and also registered two goals in two contests earlier in the week with the Flyers (25-19-6, 56 points). Making his All-Star Game debut in the city where he played his first three NHL seasons, Simmonds scored twice in the Metropolitan Division's 10-6 semifinal win over the Atlantic Division before potting the tournament-clinching goal in a 4-3 triumph against the Pacific Division in the final. Earlier in the week, Simmonds notched the winning goal in a 2-0 victory over the New York Rangers Jan. 25 and again found the back of the net in a 2-1 triumph against the Toronto Maple Leafs Jan. 26. The 28-year-old Scarborough, Ont., native paces the Flyers and shares ninth place in the NHL with 21 goals in 50 games this season (21-17-38).
SECOND STAR - PATRICK MARLEAU, LW, SAN JOSE SHARKS
Marleau led the NHL with five goals and six points in three games to power the Pacific Division-leading Sharks (31-17-2, 64 points) to a pair of wins. He tied a League record with four goals in one period (the 3rd) of a 5-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche Jan. 23, becoming the 12th player in NHL history to achieve the feat and first since Jan. 26, 1997 (Mario Lemieux). Marleau added one goal in a 4-3 triumph over the Winnipeg Jets Jan. 24 and one assist in a 4-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers Jan. 26. The 37-year-old Aneroid, Sask., native ranks fifth among active players with 498-564-1,062 in 1,461 career games played, including 17-9-26 in 50 outings this season.
THIRD STAR - FREDERIK ANDERSEN, G, TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
Andersen earned two shutouts in as many appearances, stopping all 48 shots he faced, to propel the Maple Leafs (23-15-9, 55 points) to two victories in three contests. He turned aside 26 shots in a 4-0 triumph against the Calgary Flames Jan. 23 and made 22 saves in a 4-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings Jan. 25. In doing so, Andersen posted consecutive shutouts for the first time in his NHL career (164 GP). The 27-year-old Herning, Denmark, native - who is in his first campaign with the Maple Leafs - owns a 21-10-8 record with a 2.55 goals-against average, .921 save percentage and three shutouts in 39 games this season.

Conor Sheary leads 3 Stars of the Week
FIRST STAR - CONOR SHEARY, LW, PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
Sheary led the NHL with six goals and nine points in four games, highlighted by a trio of multi-goal performances, to lift the Penguins (30-11-5, 65 points) to a perfect 4-0-0 week. He registered 2-1-3, including his first career overtime goal, in an 8-7 triumph against the Washington Capitals Jan. 16. Sheary then collected one assist in a 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens Jan. 18 and two goals in a 7-1 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes Jan. 20. He capped the week with another 2-1-3 performance, including the decisive goal, in a 5-1 triumph over the Boston Bruins Jan. 22. The 24-year-old Winchester, Mass., native ranks fourth on the Penguins with 17-17-34 in 39 games this season, more than triple his production from his rookie campaign in 2015-16 (7-3-10 in 44 GP).

The 30-year-old Fussen, Germany, native owns a 12-7-3 record with a 2.32 goals-against average, .928 save percentage and two shutouts in 23 appearances this season.
THIRD STAR - T.J. OSHIE, RW, WASHINGTON CAPITALS
Oshie collected 3-3-6 in three outings to power the League-leading Capitals (31‑9‑6, 68 points) to five out a possible six standings points. He posted 1-2-3, his third three-point performance of the season, in an 8-7 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins Jan. 16. Oshie then recorded 1-1-2 in a 7-3 victory over his former team, the St. Louis Blues, Jan. 19 and scored the tying goal in a 4-3 overtime win against the Dallas Stars Jan. 21. Nicklas Backstrom leads 3 Stars of the Week
NEW YORK -- Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom, Boston Bruins left wing Brad Marchand and Carolina Hurricanes left wing Brock McGinn have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending Jan. 15.
FIRST STAR - NICKLAS BACKSTROM, C, WASHINGTON CAPITALS
Backstrom led the League in assists and points with 3-7-10 in four contests as the Capitals won all four games to extend their overall winning streak to nine contests and propel Washington to the top of the NHL standings (29-9-5, 63 points). Backstrom registered multiple points in all four games starting with one goal and one assist in a 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Jan. 9. On Jan. 11, he recorded one goal and three assists in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, followed by one goal and one assist in a 6-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 13. Backstrom finished the week by notching two assists in a 5-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 15. In his 10th season, all with the Capitals, the 29-year-old Galve, Sweden native leads the Capitals and is tied for 10th in League scoring with 42 points (12-30-42 in 43 GP).
SECOND STAR - BRAD MARCHAND, LW, BOSTON BRUINS
Marchand finished the week second in League scoring with eight points (4-4-8 in 3 GP) as the Bruins won two of three starts to improve to 23-18-5 (51 points), second in the Atlantic Division. On Jan. 10, Marchand recorded two goals and one assist in a 5-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues. After being held pointless in a 2-1 loss to the Nashville Predators on Jan. 12, Marchand matched a career high with five points (2-3-5) while skating in his 500th career NHL game in a 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 14. In his eighth season, all with the Bruins, the 28-year-old Halifax, N.S. native leads the Bruins with 43 points (17-26-43) in 46 games, tied for seventh in NHL scoring
THIRD STAR - BROCK MCGINN, LW, CAROLINA HURRICANES
McGinn finished the week tied for third in League scoring with seven points (4-3-7 in 3 GP) as the Hurricanes recorded three victories, improving their record to 21-15-7 (49 points). On Jan. 10, McGinn recorded one goal in a 5-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. He notched two goals, including the game winner, in a 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Jan. 13 and closed the week by recording a career-high four points (1-3-4) in a 7-4 win over the New York Islanders Jan. 14. In his second season with Carolina, the 22-year-old Fergus, Ont. native has appeared in 27 games recording 12 points (5-7-12).
