There was no shortage of excitement when the New York Rangers topped the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Friday afternoon.
Derek Stepan opened the scoring for the Rangers, then goals by Matt Puempel and Kevin Hayes followed.
Hayes' goal was the 100th point of his NHL career, all as a Ranger.
But the Flyers scored twice in the third to put pressure on the Rangers, which led to a heart-stopping finish that led to several Flyer shots on goal and several fights for the puck by the Rangers net that would have sent any Ranger fan's heart-rate into overdrive.
Chris Vandevelde scored for the Flyers 1:34 into the third period, and Shayne Gostisbehre scored with 2:04 left in the same period.
Henrik Lundqvist made 40 saves for the Rangers in the win.
