NEW YORK - Dallas Stars defenseman Jamie Oleksiak has been suspended for two games, without pay, for an illegal check to the head of Philadelphia Flyers forward Chris VandeVelde during NHL Game No. 411 in Philadelphia on Saturday, Dec. 10, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 7:30 of the third period.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Oleksiak will forfeit $10,208.34. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
