Martin Brodeur and Ty Conklin named Blues goalie coaches

When St. Louis Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock was fired on Wednesday morning, and assistant coach Mike Yeo was promoted, the team's goaltending coach, Jim Corsi, was also relieved of his duties with the team.

"This franchise should make the playoffs, the fans deserve that," Blues General Manager Doug Armstrong said at a press conference on Wednesday. "And not only make the playoffs, but have success."

Ty Conklin and former Devils and Blues goaltender Martin Brodeur will share Goalie Coach Jim Corsi's previous duties for the rest of the year.

In his entire NHL career, Brodeur went 691-397-154 with a 9.12 SV% and a 2.24 GAA. He played 21 seasons with the New Jersey Devils from 1991-92 to 2013-14. IN 2014-15, Brodeur played in seven games with the Blues, recording a 3-3-0 record, an .899 SV% and a 2.87 GAA.

Yeo, 43, is in his first season with the Blues after spending the majority of his career as the head coach of the Minnesota Wild. Yeo led Minnesota to a 173-132-44 record, which included three consecutive postseason appearances, including back-to-back appearances in the second round in 2014 and 2015. Prior to his stint in Minnesota, Yeo spent one season as the head coach of the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros, where he led the club to the 2011 Calder Cup Final.

Yeo also spent 10 seasons in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, including four as an assistant coach with the Penguins, where he captured the 2009 Stanley Cup.
