NHL News and Notes: Aho posts career-highs against Oilers

Sebastian Aho, who posted a career-high 3-1—4 on Tuesday, scored his 2nd consecutive game-winner to lead the Caorlina Hurricanes past the Edmonton Oilers. and to back-to-back wins.

On Saturday, the Hurricanes will face the Islanders. The Hurricanes have recorded a 22-8-6 record in their last 36 games against the Islanders, and are 8-0-0 this season when allowing just one goal.

Islanders forward Jason Chimera skated in his 1000th NHL contest last night against the Detroit Red Wings.

PENS' KESSEL 2-1–3 IN 800TH NHL GAME

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Phil Kessel posted 2-1—3, including the overtime winner, in his 800th NHL game to lead the Penguins past the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3.

Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has points in nine of his last 14 games (2G-11A). His 2A last night against Columbus marked his 7th multi-point effort.

HUBERDEAU GETS GWG IN SEASON DEBUT

Jonathan Huberdeau scored the game-winning goal in his season debut as the Florida Panthers earned their third straight victory on Friday night against the Anaheim Ducks. The Panthers won 2-1.
