Panthers clinch playoff berth with Bruins loss to Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks pulled off a huge victory against the Boston Bruins on Sunday.

The Bruins tried to rally from a 5-0 deficit and came back only to lose 6-4 to the Blackhawks in Chicago.

Artem Anisimov opened the scoring in the game with a power-play-goal for the Blackhawks at 13:14 of the first period, then Patrick Kane scored at 18:31 of the period to put his team up 2-0.

Kane opened the scoring for his team again 54 seconds into the second period, and then Jonathan Toews scored 2:00 into the period to put his team up 4-0. Artemi Panerin scored 5:17 into the period, and Patrick Kane scored once again at 14:16 into the period to complete his hat trick.

David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, and Brad Marchand scored for the Bruins. Bergeron had two goals in the game.

The Bruins out shot the Blackhawks 46-34.

The Bruins pulled goaltender Tukka Rask in the second period. Rask made 18 saves in the game. Jonas Gustavsson went in between the goal pipes for the Bruins and stopped 10 shots.

Scott Darling made 42 saves for Chicago.

With Boston losing, the Florida Panthers were able to clinch a playoff berth in the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs.
