Ducks acquire Enroth from Toronto

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired goaltender Jhonas Enroth from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a seventh-round selection in the 2018 NHL Draft. Enroth will report to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Enroth, 28 (6/25/88), has posted a 50-69-16 record with seven shutouts, a 2.84 goals-against average (GAA) and .909 save percentage (SV%) in 153 career NHL games with Toronto, Los Angeles, Dallas and Buffalo. The 5-10, 175 pound goaltender has represented Sweden at the international level, most recently at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. Enroth also earned a silver medal with Sweden at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and gold at the 2013 World Championship.

Selected by Buffalo in the second round (46th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft, the Stockholm, Sweden native posted career highs in GAA (2.17), SV% (.922) and shutouts (2) with Los Angeles in 2015-16. He began this season with the Maple Leafs, making four starts in six appearances. Enroth also appeared in three games with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL), going 2-1-0 with a .904 SV%.

Maple Leafs recall goaltender Jhonas Enroth

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has recalled goaltender Jhonas Enroth from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) while forwards Byron Froese and Frederik Gauthier, as well as goaltender Antoine Bibeau, have been loaned to the Marlies.

Enroth, 28, owns a 0-3-1 record with a 3.94 goals against average and a .872 save percentage in six appearances with the Maple Leafs in 2016-17. Enroth registered 24 saves in one previous appearance with the Marlies, a 5-3 win over Hartford on December 10.

Froese, 25, played two games with the Maple Leafs after being recalled from the Marlies on December 21. He has registered 17 points (12 goals, five assists) in 26 games with the Marlies this season.

Gauthier, 21, recorded two points, including his first NHL goal, in three games with the Maple Leafs after being recalled from the Marlies on December 19. He has collected four points (one goal, three assists) in 16 games with the Marlies this season.

Bibeau, 22, has posted a 7-6-2 record, a 2.48 goals against average, a .910 save percentage and three shutouts in 15 games with the Marlies this season. He made 26 saves in his NHL debut against Colorado on December 11.
