Report: Oilers to announce working role for Wayne Gretzky

UPDATE (2:54pm ET): Gretzky will be named Partnet and Vice-Chairman of Oilers' Entertainment Group today, says John Shannon of Sportsnet.

The Edmonton Oilers are reportedly going to announce the team is bringing back NHL legend Wayne Gretzky in a working role with the club.

TSN's Ryan Rishaug says Gretzky's role could be one like the one of Kevin Lowe, who is the current vice-chairman of the Oilers Entertainment Group.

In nine seasons with the Oilers in his NHL career, Gretzky posted 583 goals and 1,086 assists with a +551 rating. In the one season he spent with the Oilers during the team's time in the WHA, 'The Great One' recorded 43 goals and 61 assists with a +23 rating.
