"The Neutral Zone" Staff Report

PITTSBURGH, PA - Pittsburgh Penguins rookie Bryan Rust could miss Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.

Rust sustained an upper-body injury 4:47 into the third period of Pittsburgh's 3-2 win in Game 1 on Monday. Rust was hit by Sharks forward Patrick Marleau.

Yesterday, it was announced the Marleau would not have a hearing for the hit.

Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said Tuesday that Rust remains day-to-day and is being evaluated.

Rust's six goals in the playoffs this season is the most ever by a Penguins rookie. He also has four goals in his past three games.
