Wild captain Koivu goes to local hospital during Wild-Blue Jackets game

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Wild center and captain Mikko Koivu has been hospitalized following a hit that sent him into the boards early in Minnesota's game at Columbus.

Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard collided with Koivu less than two minutes into the game, which sent Koivo into the boards back-first.

Koivu reportedly made it back to the Wild bench before exiting the game, then going to a local hospital.

There is no official word on his condition from the Wild.
