NHL to host first-ever Women's Classic

The NHL will be hosting it's first-ever Women's Classic.

The two teams playing in the event are the Boston Pride (NWHL) and the Les Canadiennes (CWHL) at Gillette Stadium on December 31st, 2015.

Gillette Stadium will open it's gates for the event at 1:30 p.m. ET.


Immediately after the Women's Classic will be the Winter Classic Alumni Game between Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens alumni.

The next day, on January 1st, 2015 will be the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic between the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins

"Two days with three Boston-Montreal rival match-ups is a great way to celebrate hockey," said Bill Daly, NHL Deputy Commissioner. "A new year signifies a new chapter and we look forward to sharing the ice for the first time with two professional women's teams on the League's biggest stage."
