Blues release Scott Gomez: The St. Louis Blues have released veteran forward Scott Gomez.

The 36-year-old Gomez was not picked up by any team after being placed on waivers r this week.

The 15-year veteran attended training camp on a tryout and signed a one-year contract in October when the Blues were hampered by injuries at forward. He had one goal and eight points in 21 games.

Gomez played 58 games for New Jersey last season and had seven goals and 27 assists. He has 181 goals and 574 assists in 1,066 regular-season games in 16 seasons with New Jersey, the New York Rangers, Montreal, San Jose, Florida and St. Louis.

Rob Klinkhammer
Oilers activate forward Klinkhammer, defenceman Davidson from injured reserve: The Edmonton Oilers activated winger Rob Klinkhammer and defenceman Brandon Davidson from injured reserve on Thursday.

Klinkhammer, 29, has one goal in eight games with the Oilers this season.

Davidson, 24, has two goals and three assists through 23 appearances this year.

The Oilers also assigned defenceman Nikita Nikitin to the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors.
