McDAVID SCORES LATE OVERTIME GOAL IN OILERS' FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN
The Florida Panthers scored three straight goals to overcome an early 2-0 deficit, but Jordan Eberle tied the game with 2:59 remaining in the third period and Connor McDavid (1-2-3) scored with 2.6 seconds left in overtime to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-3 victory, their fourth straight win, all at home.
* McDavid had his seventh three-point game of the season to increase his lead atop the NHL scoring race (15-39-54 in 47 GP). He also got his 100th NHL point (31-71-102 in 92 GP).
* McDavid reached 100 points in 92 games. He's the fourth-fastest active player with 100 career points, behind Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals (77 games), Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins (80) and Evgeni Malkin of the Penguins (89), according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Two players in Oilers history have accomplished the feat in fewer games: Wayne Gretzky (61 games) and Blair MacDonald (85).
* McDavid, who faced the Panthers for the first time in the NHL, has at least one point against 28 of the 30 teams he has played. He has no points against the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning.

* Elias notes that the Red Wings overcame a three-goal deficit to win for the first time in exactly two years; the previous time was against the Buffalo Sabres on Jan. 18, 2015. Wednesday, however, marked the second time in the past three games that the Red Wings won after trailing by multiple goals. They were down 2-0 against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday before winning 6-3.
* Tomas Tatar led Detroit with one goal and two assists, while Thomas Vanek had an assist extended his point streak to seven games (5-5-10).
SHARKS WIN FINALE OF SEASON SERIES AGAINST KINGS
Joe Pavelski scored the eventual game-winning goal midway through the second period to help the San Jose Sharks win the finale of their season series against the Los Angeles Kings (SJS: 3-1-1; LAK: 2-3-0).
* At 27-16-2 (56 points), the Sharks are third in the Pacific Division behind the Anaheim Ducks (25-13-9, 59 points) and Oilers (25-15-7, 57 points). The Sharks, however, have two games in hand on each of the teams ahead of them.
* Brent Burns opened the scoring with his 19th goal of the season, nine more than the next-closest NHL defenseman (Shea Weber: 10). Burns leads defensemen and is fifth among all players with 19-27-46 in 45 games this season.
PAVELEC, BALANCED ATTACK GUIDE JETS TO VICTORY
Ondrej Pavelec made 30 saves in his first NHL game since April 9, 2016, a 4-3 shootout win at the Kings, to help the Winnipeg Jets improve to 7-0-0 all-time at MTS Centre against the Arizona Coyotes.
* Elias notes that the Jets had 15 players with at least one point in a game for the second time in Jets/Atlanta Thrashers history. The other: at the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 27, 2011, when 15 skaters contributed in a 9-8 win.
