Tuukka Rask leaves game for Bruins

Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask left the game against the Nashville Predators in the first period Thursday.

Rask was injured after taking a puck to his neck. He stopped a shot by Predators defenseman Roman Josi at 7:11, which was deflected by a Bruins defenseman before it hit Rask under his mask. Rask was looked at by the trainer before skating off the ice and heading to the locker room.

"[Rask] got the shot there in the throat area, and he's being evaluated," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "He wasn't well enough to come back, and we'll see moving forward how he does."

Rask, who made three saves, was replaced by Zane McIntyre in the first period. The Bruins lost 2-1.

Boston next plays Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Josi left the game after sustaining an upper-body injury on a hit from Bruins defenseman Anton Blidh at 15:31 of the first period.
