TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Brad Marchand scored 10 seconds into overtime, Jonas Gustavsson made 42 saves and the Boston Bruins beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 1-0 on Tuesday night in a matchup of Atlantic Division leaders.
Patrice Bergeron sent a pass from the right wing through the slot that Marchand redirected past Ben Bishop.
Boston and Tampa Bay both have 83 points but the Bruins have played one more game.
Bishop stopped 32 shots.
ISLANDERS 2, PENGUINS 1
NEW YORK (AP) — Anders Lee scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period, Jaroslav Halak stopped 31 shots before leaving late in the third period and got his 200th career victory and surging New York beat Pittsburgh.
Halak left the game with 4:22 left with a possible injury. Thomas Greiss replaced him and stopped all three shots he faced. Halak, in his second season with the Islanders, improved to 200-115-37 in his career.
John Tavares scored in the first period for the Islanders, who improved to 11-2-1 in their last 14 games in their first time back at Barclays Center since Feb. 18. New York was coming off a 6-1-0 trip that ended with 6-4 win against the crosstown-rival Rangers on Sunday.
Kris Letang had the Penguins' goal and Marc-Andre Fleury finished with 25 saves.
CANADIENS 4, STARS 3, OT
MONTREAL (AP) — Alex Galchenyuk got his second goal of the game 1:59 into overtime and Montreal beat Dallas to end a four-game skid.
Max Pacioretty and Phillip Danault also scored for Montreal. Ben Scrivens made 30 saves.
Cody Eakin, Jason Spezza and Ales Hemsky had goals for the first-place Stars. Kari Lehtonen stopped 24 shots.
The 13th-place Canadiens are 6-0-1 in their last seven home games.
Galchenyuk one-timed in a pass from Andrei Markov from the faceoff circle.
RANGERS 4, SABRES 2
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Mats Zuccarello had a goal and two assists and New York edged Buffalo after nearly blowing a three-goal lead.
J.T. Miller sealed the victory with a backhander into an empty net with a minute left after he lost a glove on the rush up the right wing. Derrick Brassard and Jesper Fast also scored for New York, which extended its winning streak over Buffalo to nine.
The Rangers haven't lost to the Sabres since a 3-1 decision on March 12, 2013. They improved to 13-2 in their past 15 meetings.
Sam Reinhart and Johan Larsson scored for Buffalo.
SHARKS 3, OILERS 0
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — James Reimer made 31 saves in his first shutout of the season, Logan Couture scored twice and San Jose beat Edmonton.
Joe Pavelski also scored for the Sharks, who won their second in a row. They've now won five of their last six and have gone 19-5-4 since Jan. 9.
Cam Talbot stopped 19 shots for Edmonton, which had won four of its previous five games.
The Sharks started the scoring just 1:33 into the game when a puck bounced around before landing between the legs of Talbot, who spun around in vain trying to find it before Couture swatted it into the net.
PREDATORS 4, JETS 2
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Craig Smith scored twice and Nashville hung on to beat Winnipeg.
Colton Sissons and Ryan Johansen also scored for the Predators, and Sissons added an assist and Colin Wilson had a pair of helpers. Pekka Rinne turned aside 21 shots. Nashville is 9-0-4 in its last 13 games.
Forward Drew Stafford and defenseman Jacob Trouba had goals for Winnipeg, while Ondrej Pavelec made 27 saves.
The loss ended Winnipeg's five-game homestand with only one victory (1-3-1).
BLUE JACKETS 5, RED WINGS 3
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Cam Atkinson scored twice in the third period and Boone Jenner had a goal and an assist while Columbus held off Detroit.
David Clarkson and David Savard also scored for the Jackets, and Joonas Korpisalo made 32 saves. Atkinson's empty-netter with 17.5 seconds left secured the win.
Tomas Tatar and Andreas Athanasiou scored 46 seconds apart late in the third to pull Detroit within 4-3. Darren Helm thought he'd tied it less than a minute later, but the puck careened off the post behind Korpisalo.
Justin Abdelkader also scored for Detroit, and Jimmy Howard made 27 saves.
HURRICANES 4, SENATORS 3, SO
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Rookie Jaccob Slavin scored in the fourth round of the shootout, and Carolina beat Ottawa.
Jeff Skinner scored twice for Carolina, including one with 0.2 seconds remaining to force overtime, and Jay McClement had a short-handed goal.
Cam Ward made 21 saves for the Hurricanes, who won a shootout for the first time this season. They've earned points in three straight.
Zack Smith, Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel scored for the Senators, who have lost five of seven.
Andrew Hammond made 34 saves for Ottawa, but Slavin beat him high with a backhand in the tiebreaker. Ward then stopped Smith to end it.
