BOSTON (AP) Roberto Luongo made 34 saves, and Jussi Jokinen and Vincent Trocheck each had a goal and an assist to lift the Florida Panthers into first place in the Atlantic Division with a 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins on Thursday night.
Reilly Smith and Jonathan Huberdeau also scored for Florida, which passed idle Tampa Bay in the standings and won for the first time in 10 visits to Boston. Earlier this season, the Panthers ended a 10-game skid in Washington, a six-game losing streak in Columbus and a nine-game winless run in Nashville.
Luongo ended a rough stretch of his own, winning for the first time in eight starts in Boston dating to his three Stanley Cup losses for Vancouver in the 2011 finals.
Ryan Spooner scored for Boston, which lost its fifth straight following a seven-game unbeaten streak.
MAPLE LEAFS 6, DUCKS 5, OT
TORONTO (AP) - Nazem Kadri had two goals and two assists, including the overtime winner as Toronto beat Anaheim, which earned a point to clinch a playoff spot for the fourth consecutive season.
The Ducks reached the postseason when they rallied from a 4-1 deficit to force the extra period.
The Maple Leafs scored three power-play goals against the NHL's top penalty kill to win for the fifth time in six games.
Toronto allowed four unanswered goals before rallying to even the score at 5-5 on Connor Brown's first NHL goal before Kadri sealed it 41 seconds into OT.
Tyler Bozak also scored twice for the Leafs, with Frank Corrado getting his first goal for Toronto.
Jamie McGinn tallied twice for Anaheim. Andrew Cogliano, Ryan Garbutt and Brandon Pirri also scored goals.
DEVILS 3, PENGUINS 0
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Kyle Palmieri scored twice in the first period and Scott Wedgewood stopped 39 shots for his first career shutout as New Jersey beat Pittsburgh.
Palmieri, who set career highs with 29 goals and 52 points, has a four-game points streak. He scored twice early and Wedgewood held off the high-scoring Penguins until Adam Henrique sealed the win for the Devils with his 27th of the season midway through the third period.
New Jersey has won five of seven.
Marc-Andre Fleury finished with 21 saves as Pittsburgh snapped a season-high six-game winning streak. The Penguins remained four points behind the second-place New York Rangers in the division, and one point ahead of the fourth-place, who hold the Eastern Conference's first wild card spot.
HURRICANES 3, BLUE JACKETS 2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Victor Rask, Chris Terry and Elias Lindholm scored in a 1:38 span of the third period, and Eddie Lack made 42 saves to lead Carolina past Columbus.
With the Hurricanes leading 3-1, Lack halted a wraparound attempt by Boone Jenner with his left leg pad. Jenner pushed the puck over the line after a series of swipes, however, to cut Carolina's lead to one at 4:03 of the third.
The Jackets could not tie it despite pulling goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky with 90 seconds remaining.
Matt Calvert tipped a shot by Dalton Prout over Lack's left shoulder and into the net at 17:25 of the second to give Columbus its lone lead of the game. Bobrovsky finished with 21 saves for the Blue Jackets.
RED WINGS 4, CANADIENS 3
DETROIT (AP) - Riley Sheahan scored a career-high two goals to help Detroit take a four-goal lead into the third period and the Red Wings held on to beat Montreal.
Sheahan's second goal came 12 seconds after Luke Glendening scored early in the second, then Anthony Mantha's first NHL goal gave the Red Wings a 4-0 lead late in the period.
Montreal's Tomas Plekanec scored in the opening minute of the third. Paul Byron and Max Pacioretty followed with goals to pull Montreal within a goal.
Petr Mrazek kept the lead and had 26 saves for the Red Wings, who are in a tightly contested race for a wild-card spot in the hopes of extending their postseason streak to 25 seasons.
Ben Scrivens stopped 36 shots for the Canadiens.
WILD 6, FLAMES 2
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Zach Parise scored three times for his third hat trick of the season and added an assist as the Wild spoiled Calgary goalie Niklas Backstrom's return to Minnesota.
Jared Spurgeon scored two power-play goals as Minnesota, which holds the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference, matched a season high with its fourth-straight victory.
Parise got his three goals in a span of 11 minutes, 12 seconds of the first period, the fastest three goals by a player in Wild history. Nino Niederreiter scored his fifth goal in seven games and goalie Devan Dubnyk had 31 saves.
Backstrom, the Wild's all-time leader in wins and shutouts, made 23 saves for Calgary in his second game after being acquired by the Flames at the trade deadline. Johnny Gaudreau scored his 28th goal and rookie Jakub Nakladal added his second.
JETS 4, KINGS 1
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) - Dustin Byfuglien and Paul Postma scored less than three minutes apart early in the third period to help Winnipeg beat Los Angeles.
Adam Lowry and Drew Stafford, with an empty netter, also scored for Winnipeg. Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler each added two assists.
Anze Kopitar scored his 25th goal of the season on the power play for the Pacific Division-leading Kings, who dropped their third in a row.
Ondrej Pavelec made 33 saves for the Jets, who ended a four-game homestand (2-1-1). Jonathan Quick turned aside 20 shots for L.A., which couldn't pick up a win on its three-game road trip.
PREDATORS 3, CANUCKS 2, SO
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Craig Smith had the decisive goal in the shootout after Nashville scored twice to tie in the third period.
James Neal and Filip Forsberg scored 1:12 apart to even the score with about 7 minutes remaining in regulation for the Predators, and Pekka Rinne stopped 23 shots through overtime. Ryan Johansen also scored in the tiebreaker before Smith won it in the fourth round.
Nashville, which holds the Western Conference's first wild-card spot, moved within two points of third-place Chicago in the Central Division.
Bo Horvat scored at 6:52 of the first period, ending the Canucks' longest scoring drought in franchise history at 234:52. Daniel Sedin's power-play goal later in the period made it 2-0, and Ryan Miller had 30 saves as Vancouver lost its sixth straight.
Jared McCann scored in the second round of the shootout for Vancouver.
FLYERS 4, AVALANCHE 2
DENVER (AP) - Radko Gudas and Claude Giroux scored 19 seconds apart late in the third period, Steve Mason made 32 saves and Philadelphia beat Colorado.
Gudas fired past Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov to tie the game at 2-all at the 14:17 mark of the third. Giroux then scored at 14:36.
Pierre-Edouard Bellemare also scored for the Flyers, who are tied with the Detroit Red Wings for the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Ryan White had an empty-net goal in the final seconds.
Nick Holden and John Mitchell scored for the Avalanche, who were again without their two top scorers, Matt Duchene and Nathan MacKinnon. Both are out with knee injuries.
COYOTES 3, STARS 1
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Martin Hanzal scored his 100th career goal in the second period and added his first short-handed goal in more than seven years in the third to lead Arizona past sloppy Dallas.
Tobias Rieder also scored, and Louis Domingue stopped 37 shots in Arizona's second win over the Western Conference leaders this season.
Two nights after clinching a playoff berth, the Stars took six penalties, gave up a penalty shot and the league's top offense was stymied in snapping a three-game winning streak.
Ales Hemsky's first-period goal was it for the Stars, who stayed two points ahead of idle St. Louis for the best record in the Central Division and the conference.
OILERS 6, SHARKS 3
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Patrick Maroon scored the go-ahead goal and assisted on another in Edmonton's four-goal second period that carried the Oilers past San Jose.
Lauri Korpokoski, Taylor Hall and Adam Clendening also scored in the big second that made sure Oilers coach Todd McLellan wouldn't have to watch his old team clinch a playoff berth.
Jordan Eberle added an insurance goal in the third and Hall added an empty-netter as Edmonton earned its first regulation win in San Jose since Jan. 13, 2011. Cam Talbot made 22 saves.
Tommy Wingels, Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau scored for the Sharks, who failed to hold a two-goal lead after the first period and missed a chance to clinch the playoffs for a second straight game.
