Carolina Hurricanes center Victor Rask agreed to terms on a six-year contract Tuesday that will pay him $4 million per year.
Rask, 23, had an NHL career high 48 points (21 goals, 27 assists) in 80 games last season and led the Hurricanes with 18 power-play points. He was second in power-play assists (13) and fourth among Carolina forwards with an average ice time of 16:58 per game.

"Victor has gotten better every season that he's been a part of our organization," Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis said. "He is a big part of this team's present and future, and we are thrilled to sign him to a longer-term deal."
Selected by Carolina in the second round (No. 42) of the 2011 NHL Draft, Rask has 32 goals and 81 points in 160 NHL games. He competed for Sweden at the IIHF World Junior Championship, winning a gold medal in 2012 and silver in 2013.
