Blackhawks and Capitals face on Sunday

The Chicago Blackawks face the Washington Capitals
in Chicago on Sunday afternoon.
Andrew Ladd will make his first start with a new team on Sunday since after a trade tat shipped him out of Winnipeg.

That new team will be the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks aquired Ladd in a trade with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.

The Capitals defeated the Blackhawks 4-1 at Verizon Center in Washington on October 15. John Carlson and TJ Oshie each had a goal and assist in the game. Braden Holtby made 26 saves for the Capitals. Blackhawks backup goaltender Scott Darling started in net that game and allowed four goals in 24 shots in his first game of the 2015-16 season.

Dale Weise, who the Blackhawks acquired in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night, will not play. Tomas Fleischmann, who the Blackhawks acquired in the same trade, will play.

Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin leads the league in goals scored this season with 40, while Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane leads the league in points with 84.

The last major game between these two teams was on January 1, 2015 when the two teams played in Washington outdoors in the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic. The Capitals won the game by a score of 2-3.
