Capitals beat Flyers 3-2 on Sunday afternoon

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin scored his 30th goal of the season as the Capitals defeated the Philadelphia Flyers by a score of 3-2.

Matt Niskanen scored the game-winning goal for the Capitals at 5:24 into the third period to put the Capitals ahead 3-2.

51 seconds into the 3rd period, Nick Schultz scored for the Flyers to tie the game up at two goals a piece.

Philadelphia outshot Washington in the game 35-30.

Michael Del Zotto also for the Flyers, and Dimitry Orlov also scored for the Capitals.

With his assist on Orlov's goal, Andre Burakovsky extended his point streak to seven games.

Braden Holtby made 33 saves for the Capitals, and Steve Mason made 27 saves for the Flyers.
